The Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Bradford is seeking to appoint a Faculty-based Business Development Manager to provide support for research and knowledge exchange (RKE). As skin research forms a significant part of the industry research portfolio, a research background in skin and hair biology will be a distinct advantage.

About You:

This is a key role bridging between Faculty academic teams and Research and Innovation Services who provide support for development of both industrial and non-commercial funding for research.

You should have:

Significant experience in a previous role(s) that have developed or shaped academic-industry collaboration, whether from within industry or within academia and a keen interest in the industrial application of research.

Experience in building external relationships/contacts and finding and acting on new RKT opportunities whether through academic staff or through own research and efforts

Track record in working independently, being self-motivated and comfortable working with staff at all levels in the organisation.

About the Role:

Your role will be to engage and support/mentor our teams of academic staff towards successful business engagement and industry funded research and you will work with many teams, both within CSS and more broadly within the Faculty and wider University.  Ideally you will bring your business understanding to the discussions with industry to enhance the value of the relationships to our partners. You will be a force for innovation in developing processes that will increase efficiencies in knowledge transfer and will advise and support the teaching staff in our business modules at MSc level.
