Faculty

The Department of Sociology and Criminology, within the School of Social Sciences at the University of Bradford, recruits strongly for the University and contributes to its REF submission.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking to appoint, initially on temporary basis (three years), a motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Criminology. The successful candidate will be working within a team of highly skilled and motivated academics to strengthen the subjects within the School and Faculty.

You will contribute to existing degree programmes, including our Foundation Year and Undergraduate degrees

Qualifications/ experience: 

  • You will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Criminology or a related field. Candidates without a PhD should be able to demonstrate their disciplinary expertise through a growing record of academic research and outputs. 
  •  You should have evidence of being able to deliver excellent and research informed teaching, and have a desire to undertake doctoral level supervision. 
  • Evidence of scholarship in Criminology is essential, as is evidence of delivering social scientific content to non-academic audiences. 
  • We particularly welcome academics who have experience, interest and scholarship in one or more of the following areas: Employability; Social inequalities and social mobility; Crime and ‘race’; Cybercrime, the Dark Web and AI; Organised Crime, Human Trafficking and Global Criminology; Policing; Punishment, Prisons, and Rehabilitation; Quantitative and Digital Research Methodologies.
