Position Overview

The People Advisor position is for a Fixed Term period up to 30 January 2026.   Ideally applicants should be readily available, and able to start in February/early March.

We are looking for a resilient, positive, and engaging People Advisor to join our People Advisory team within the Directorate of People, Culture and Wellbeing to support operational and strategic people guidance across our Faculties and Directorates. 

The role of People Advisor will act as an integral part of the People Advisory team in the delivery of comprehensive employee relations guidance on a daily basis.  Key to our success is in the delivery of high quality and consistent advice, and coaching on people matters to managers such as engagement, employee relations, and well-being.  Working as part of a great team, you will encourage a culture of continuous improvement with the ability to engage, inspire and influence others. 

You will have the ability to build excellent and effective working partnerships with the Dean/Director, senior managers, and staff, and be responsible for delivering innovative and creative people solutions and change management processes that anticipate and meet changing workforce requirements. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information/rules/employment legislation gaining the trust and respect of colleagues and customers. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing People Policies, managing employment related casework, including disciplinary and grievance processes, and delivering a customer focused people advisor service. Alongside this you will have the ability to conduct job evaluation and deliver internal training sessions and 'on the job' training to individuals and groups relating to our People Policies.

You will be CIPD qualified to a minimum of Level 5 (or working towards Level 5) or hold the equivalent level of experience.
