Directorate
We are seeking an experienced senior leader and strategic marketer to lead, develop and motivate the team responsible for student recruitment marketing, in the newly created role of Head of Marketing and Digital. This is an exciting time to join the University of Bradford during the City of Culture 2025, in the University’s fourth year at the top of the UK Social Mobility Index, and as we launch our new University strategy.
What you will be doing:
- Acting as a positive agent for change in the team and with an innovative and creative digital approach to student recruitment, the Head of Marketing and Digital will be responsible for delivering, evaluating and developing the University’s marketing strategy to meet the University’s ambitious student number targets. The successful postholder will be able to demonstrate significant experience of interpreting and analysing complex data sets to inform marketing planning, delivering pro-active marketing campaigns to address market challenges and effective campaign evaluation.
- The Head of Marketing and Digital will work closely with colleagues within the Marketing team and across the University to ensure an effective coordinated approach to student recruitment marketing, and the delivery of a best-in-class digital experience to our prospective and current stakeholder audiences. Working in a dynamic, challenging and exciting market environment, the postholder will need to positively influence colleagues across the institution, whilst demonstrating a high level of personal resilience and flexibility to manage changing demands and priorities.
- The University operates a hybrid working model, but there is an expectation that individuals are available to work on campus to meet service demand. As a new colleague it would be expected that to assist with settling into the role and building working relationships that at least for the first six months the majority of working days will be on campus.
Qualifications/ experience:
- Extensive experience of working at a senior level in marketing and digital role in a complex market environment
- Experience of leading and managing high performance marketing and digital teams
- Proven leadership and team-working skills, setting and achieving high standards and inspiring others to develop and excel.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills with demonstrable project management skills and an ability to build effective networks across organisations
- Level 7 qualification in Marketing or equivalent substantial professional experience
- Marketing or business-related degree or equivalent professional experience
