The Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies delivers an exciting mix of core engineering disciplines and creative technologies that complement each other delivering innovative solutions with high sector impacts.
Producing and disseminating research that harnesses the benefits of innovative engineering and sustainable principles, within a framework promoting sustainable economic development, supporting enhanced health and well-being.
What you will be doing:
- Develop an integrated Energy Digital Twin (EDT) for Switch2's complex community HN that can support future system designs
- Upgrade and optimisation options and to provide comprehensive EDT verification through 'hardware-in-the-loop' testing and development of realistic use cases validation.
Qualifications/ experience:
- Level 7 qualification or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline area or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with engineering standards for designing and operating heating networks
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and developing modular code
- Experience in engineering modelling simulation software, such as MATLAB/Simulink and SimScape simulation
- Familiarity with data analytics and data visualisation libraries for real-time visualisation of simulation results
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
