Faculty

The School of Nursing, Public Health and Healthcare Leadership continues to have ambitious vision for growth, innovative programme development and enhancing student experience. Within our nursing programmes, the school is committed to providing excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences, which enable our nursing and nursing associate students to feel confident and competent to fulfil their registered nurse/ registered nursing associate roles. This role is central to meeting this objective. 

The post holder will, under direction of the School Lead for Practice Education:

  • Co-ordinate the activity required to develop and maintain excellent practice based learning environments which support learning for a range of pre-registration, post registration nursing and public health programmes.
  • Work with University teams, and systems to ensure compliance with NMC (2023) standards for student supervision and assessment.
  • Manage data systems and records with high degree of autonomy and accuracy.
  • Organise, note take and record actions for School level meetings relating to practice education.
  • Contribute to the delivery of education under supervision of relevant academic /programme teams.
  • Support learners/ students as a Personal Academic Tutor
  • Undertake relevant outreach and engagement activities in local communities/with employers and/ or at University events.

Qualifications/ experience:

  • Be an NMC registered nurse.
  • Hold a degree level qualification. 
  • Understand the NMC standards of supervision and assessment (2023) applied to clinical practice
